A busy professional life has its own setbacks and having a cluttered office is probably one of them. Remember the first time you moved into your office? Everything was so spick and span and the brand new equipment and furniture looked tidy and in place and clutter and mess was no where to be found. But months after, you will probably notice your workplace crammed full with papers and other office supplies. Having a cluttered office is not unsightly and annoying to one’s eyes but can also affect your working attitude and work temperament. Having an organized and clean office will keep you focused and motivated to complete your tasks well.br /

However, since a lot of busy working people do not have plenty of time to keep their office clean at all times, working on a system that would always keep your office organized (so you do not have to spend time cleaning up your office) is the common sense approach. Here are a few practically tips to keep your rubbish away and ensure your office remains clean and spacious at all times. br /

1. First, you need to put together your own de-cluttering system and devise a way to clean up your room in one direction in order to avoid going back and jumping forward. Being more organized about organizing will give you a measure on how much cleaning up have you already completed. Set a regular cleaning schedule and do not wait for the mess to pile up. Work quickly but efficiently within the time you allotted in cleaning up your office. You can start by getting rid of all the clutter that covers your office table. Take away everything like old memos, working drafts and all other stuff that you do not need anymore. Get hold of the waste bin (or paper recycling bin) so you can immediately dispose of everything that you do not need anymore. You can also have a box at hand whether you can place everything you still need. The last step in the de-cluttering process is pretty simple. All clutter goes to the bin while all those that need safekeeping or filing goes to the box.br /

2. Updated filing and organized storage helps you a lot in maintaining the cleanliness in your office. Plus, they can help you save time and energy when you try to look for the things that you need. Use cabinets and shelves to keep your paper files from piling up on your office desk. Label your files and make sure that the items are organized according to fixed categories such as notes, letters, documents, contracts and financial records. Place on your office table only those things that you need to work on for the day. Once a day’s work is done, you can put those papers into fillers that can be organized by priority – what needs to be done today, or by the end of the week or by the end of the month.br /

3. Take a second look at your office layout. Make sure that your desk does not eat up needed working space or prevent easy movement around the office. Keep office supplies like pens, clips, post it notes and staplers inside your desk drawers. Emptying your trash bin and clearing up your desk at the end of each day’s work will also be very helpful in keeping your office clean and keep you from ever having to contend with a towering pile of papers on your desk. Id like to start a little discussion today about carbohydrates… and in particular, white foods as well as potatoes. One reason I wanted to mention this is because so many health and fitness professionals trash talk potatoes about being a bad carbohydrate choice because of the high glycemic index. Some even say such ridiculous things as avoid any and all white carbohydrates.br /

Ok, now while I certainly agree that white bread and refined white sugar are two of the worst things we can be feeding our bodies, I definately dont agree with avoiding any and all white carbohydrates. Now I know all of the buzz lately has been about colorful foods and the protective antioxidants that they contain. They tell you to focus on colors and stay away from white. br /

Its true that colorful foods are great, but it is a big mistake to specifically avoid white foods! There are plenty of white foods that have specific nutrients that are hard to find elsewhere. Lets look at a few examples…br /

Onions Garlicbr /

What about onions and garlic? They are both white and they are chock full of protective phytonutrients, vitamins, and trace minerals that arent easy to find elsewhere in a normal diet… such nutrients as allicin, quercetin (an important flavonoid), chromium, and other unique anti-inflammatory nutrients.br /

Another example of something white that is great for you is cauliflower. Cauliflower is loaded with vitamin C, fiber, minerals, and special compounds such as glucosinolates and thiocyanates, which are specifically abundant in cruciferous vegetables such as broccoli, cauliflower, and cabbage. And a little-known fact is that some of the compounds in cruciferous vegetables help to combat other estrogenic compounds in our food supply and environment and can help prevent excess belly fat. Now that also leads us to another example - white potatoes (which by the way, can also be found in red, yellow, purple varieties, etc). Many health professionals claim that potatoes are a bad carbohydrate because they are thought to have a high glycemic index. First of all, if youve read my Truth about Six Pack Abs book, then you understand that glycemic index is not necessarily the most important factor in choosing your carbohydrates.br /

While a generalization can be made that most low glycemic index carbohydrate choices will help you lose body fat easier than high glycemic index choices, it is not all that its cracked up to be. There are many other factors that determine how your body will react-to and process the carbohydrates you ingest, such as glycemic load and also how you combine the high GI food with other foods.br /
br /
For example, using glycemic load as an example… it is known that watermelon has a high glycemic index. However, the glycemic load of a normal serving of watermelon is just way too low for your body to start packing on body fat just because you ate a high glycemic index fruit. You would have to eat such an enormous quantity of watermelon just to get enough grams of carbohydrates to have any negative glycemic effect, that it is just non-sensical. br /
br /
Not to mention that watermelon is also a great source of vitamins, minerals, and lycopene. Theres just no reason to avoid it simply because it has a high GI. My point is… candy bars, cupcakes, and donuts make you fat… NOT watermelons, carrots or potatoes.br /

Also, as i mentioned, food combinations are important in how your body processes the carbohydrates and the associated blood sugar and insulin response you receive. For example, if you mix a high glycemic index carbohydrate with an extra source of fiber, healthy fats, or even certain proteins, many times the blood sugar and glycemic response will be slowed down considerably by the way you combined the food. Alright, so back to my point that white potatoes are actually a healthy carbohydrate as long as you eat them in the right form… with the entire skin, and please dont ruin them by deep frying them into french fries either! French fries are one of the most evil things ever invented for your health, but only because we ruin them by soaking them in a scorching bath of trans fats in the deep fryer from the hydrogenated oils that are typically used.br /
br /
Keep in mind that potatoes contain so many vitamins and minerals that the list is way too long to even try. Also, as long as you eat the skins, you get a decent shot of fiber too.br /
br /
On the topic of potatoes not being so bad after all, I dont remember where I saw this referenced, but I recently saw a particular study that had participants eat something like 7-9 whole potatoes per day for several weeks. br /
br /
br /
At the conclusion of the study, the potato eaters had actually consistently lost weight! Id venture a guess that the reason the people lost weight is that they were probably so full from eating all of those damn potatoes, that they actually consumed less calories than normal! An average sized potato only has about 100-120 calories, and I can surely imagine youd be full constantly from eating 7-9 potatoes each day. br /
br /
Now I would never recommend going to those extremes, but my point is that an occasional potato is not going to hurt your efforts to get lean, especially if you combine it with some other fibrous vegetables and maybe a healthy fat and some protein. On that note, I have one of my favorite recipes for you, using potatoes.br /

Gearys Lean-Body Potato Side Dishbr /

Desired quantity of baby potatoes (I like to use this mixture I found recently at a health food store… it is a mixture of white, red, yellow, and purple baby potatoes) br /
1 red pepper br /
1 green pepper br /
1 yellow pepper br /
1 or 2 onions br /
a couple cloves of garlic, finely chopped br /
1 or 2 Tbsp extra virgin olive oil br /
a little salt and pepper to taste (I like using a sea salt instead of normal commercial salt) br /
Cut the baby potatoes into slightly smaller pieces and place in a steamer until soft all the way through. Slice up the peppers and onions into strips and add with the chopped garlic into a pan with the olive oil. Cook the peppers, onions, and garlic until tender, and then add the steamed baby potatoes. Stir it all together and serve. This is a delicious and healthy side dish that goes great with chicken or red meat.br /

The majority of people are convinced that the church, the temple of God, is a building, or an organization or a brand name. br /

If you have the Holy Spirit residing in you, then you ARE the temple of God (1 Corinthians 3:16). br /

Truly converted Christians are, collectively the temple of God, each being a lively stone within the temple. The temple of God consists of lively stones, a holy priesthood, offering up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God by Jesus Christ (1 Peter 2:5). Christ is the chief corner stone (verse 6), the head of the corner, disallowed by the disobedient builders (verse 7). br /
br /
The stone, which the builders refused has become the head stone of the corner (Psalms 118:22, Mark 12:10, Luke 20:17, Acts 4:11, 1 Peter 2:7). Christ is the chief corner stone. Who are the builders? These are the religious leaders who pretend to be building the congregation of God, the temple of God. Anyone who rejects Jesus is a counterfeit builder. This includes all religions (belief systems) that reject Christ. This includes Christians who have a Christ only policy because: when they reject the Father they reject the Son also because the Father must first draw the person to the Son (John 6:44). This includes the leaders of commercial Christianity (including all the healers that put on a show, claiming to heal the sick, throwing crutches in the air, rolling wheelchairs off the stage, putting on a show for people who, in many cases, desire to be deceived). br /

The builders who reject the chief corner stone, Christ, are counterfeit builders. All they can build is a counterfeit temple. br /

But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that you should show forth the praises of him who has called you out of darkness into his marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9). br /
As members of the royal priesthood, should we be sacrificing bulls and sheep and goats?br /

Being a priest of God requires us to break the old controller, the center of the mind completely. For most of us this requires a lot of overcoming. He that overcomes will be given power over the nations (Revelation 2:26). He that overcomes will receive an identity that is unique throughout the entire universe, a white stone, given to him by Christ himself (Revelation 2:17). br /

The King James peculiar is from the Greek peripoiesis, which means treasured purchased possession. People willing to receive a new heart (controller), with the law written in it from God (Jeremiah 31:33, Hebrews 8:19) are considered as a treasured purchased possession — jewels of the Lord (Malachi 3:17). You are bought by the blood of God (Acts 20:27-28) because Christ was (and is) the Son of the living God (Matthew 16:16). br /

The Lord [is] close unto them that are of a broken heart; and saves such as be of a contrite spirit (Psalms 34:18). br /
